You have been around the world and have seen incredible things and had amazing experiences. Now, you face a big challenge: to integrate back into life in the United Statesyour passport says: HOME AGAIN!!

This seminar is a half day interactive course for Foreign Service high school students who have spent an extended period overseas. The program will address issues related to the re-entry process and concerns of the enrolled students. Professional trainers will guide students through the transition process and provide strategies for a successful re-entry into American life and American schools. An overview of the American school system will be given. Guided discussion will include issues related to re-adjustment and how to deal with them, as well as reflections on the participants overseas experiences. A panel of Foreign Service high school students who have re-entered in the last year or two will share their experiences and answer questions about school and other teen issues. Lunch provided.

The Annual Welcome Back Potluck Picnic!

FSYF will provide hotdogs and drinks.  Please bring a dish to share with six people.

Eileen Farias will speak to the teens on the adjustment/transition process. Ms. Farias is a licensed professional counselor and consultant who specializes in internationally mobile families and third culture kids. She is a former FS youth and was an FSYF program director for ten years.

FSYF Program Directors will offer activities for elementary school age and pre-teens. Norma McCaig will speak on Resilience and the Foreign Service Child and what parents can expect in the re-entry process.  Ms. McCaig is the Founder of Global Nomads International . Activities will be offered for the younger children during the program.

Reservations are requested by Wednesday, September 19.
