Foreign Service Youth Foundation Funding
Opportunities
Over 10,000 American Foreign Service Youth live worldwide. The
Foreign Service Youth Foundation provides services to, and activities
for:
- Foreign Service youth, ages 5-19, and to their families who
are returning to the Washington, D.C. area after extended periods
living and schooling abroad;
- to Foreign Service youth preparing to go abroad;
- to Foreign Service youth living at United States' missions
around the world; and
- Foreign Service youth and families evacuated from posts during
crises.
Through such efforts, FSYF beneficially impacts the well-being
and adjustment of youth to life in the United States and overseas,
as well as promoting global responsibility and a lifetime of service.
FSYF is the only non-profit organization dedicated to providing
information, advocacy and services for American Foreign Service
youth.
- $30,000 AWAL annual youth development program-this program
offers monthly social activities, community service projects,
transition and adjustment training and quarterly newsletter, serving
Foreign Service teens.

Globe Trotters' annual youth development program - this
program provides a monthly social and training activity and quarterly
newsletters, serving Foreign Service pre-teens.

Diplokids' annual youth development program - this
program provides a monthly social and training activity and quarterly
newsletters, serving Foreign Service kinder-aged kids.

Newsletter publication program-quarterly newsletters
for Foreign Service community, includes group meetings, promotion,
postage, printing and publishing.

Youth Community Service Program-Foreign Service teens volunteer
to meet existing needs in community.

Community Service Awards ceremony, reception for awardees and
guests and luncheon for special guests.

Packets for families evacuated from American missions.

Annual electronic community maintenance for Foreign
Service teens and website for Foreign Service families.
- $3,000 Welcome Packets-Information packets for Foreign
Service families, distributed by FSYF, the Foreign Service Institute
and the Department of State.
- $1,000 Kid Vid Awards-Videos by Foreign Service Youth
that depict life at post. Presented in ceremony at Department
of State.
